1st and 15: Verse 6

Scripture memorization has proved to be a discipline I'm not so good at!! At this point, I think I've learned that I get involved in too many things then don't do them all well. But, the beauty of it is He knows we want to know his word, and for that he rejoices!

So, today I was thinking of how so many of us who are "stuck" on the former things and not focusing on the new creation God has made us. We are a new creation so why do we "take back" the "stuff" we have surrendered?

He is making a way in the desert...do we not perceive it? Lord, by your mercy we ask that you give us eyes to see and ears to hear the plans you have for us! Pick a verse....

Isaiah 43: 18-19- “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."

Philippians 3:13-14- Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do:forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus

1 Peter 1:22-23- Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth to a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart 23 since you have been born again not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.

Man, the first verse memorization scripture I read was what I needed to read; and memorize. Isaish 43:18-19.

I love that. I, because of the way my mother raised me, (she held on to every error from the time I was a little kid and rehashed it to me countless times), so therefore I, in turn, sometimes do the same. So this verse really speaks to me about 'letting it go'.

Thank you Marci. You didn't even know I struggled with this, but do.

I'm going to print this out with the other ones I've printed. This one is exactly what I need to ALWAY have memorized! You're such a God-send! Love ya,
Sarah Cecilia

We need to keep looking and focusing on what we can do to glorify God not what we have already done...
I love your post and looking forward to reading more.

Me TOO!!!! Let go of the past...take it back with pain...only to let go; again. It's crazy. Very silly. And painful each time. Gotta stop!!! Thank you Marci for your mission to all of us. Kathryn
