Well, I'm a day late due to unforeseen organisms invading my body and making my head feel like it might explode! I must say this is the first real bout I've had with this stuff since before my accident so I am certainly thankful for that. It scares Chuck to death because I can't move secretions well (I know too much info) because of diminished lung capacity. I woke up unable to catch my breath and wheezing last night. Flashback to hospital days for us when I couldn't breathe.......just a bit unsettling.
Anyway, I'm much, well, a little better today. Here are the verses chosen for this week. Pick one of these or find one for yourself. I'm picking the 1 Peter 3 verse. If we truly care about others, we should always be ready to tell them about real freedom through Christ. Please note the hope in the verse is better read "assurance".
1 Peter 3:15-16- Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
Romans 8:26- In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
Colossians 3:12-14- Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Romans 12:1-2-Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Thanks for all your feedback and emails! This has been fun! Have a blessed week!I'm so ready for Spring and it looks like it has arrived in DFW, yeah!!
