So how'd you do? However you did, it's a start! All this stuff is a developed discipline or habit and baby steps are steps, right? Thank you God for your patience! I've been trying to think of verses for these next two weeks. It is so hard to narrow it down! In the last two weeks I've seen God working in the hearts of my children and that has been especially sweet. I'm reading "Moment for Families with Prodigals" by Robert Morgan. It has been awesome at reminding me of the reality that God is listening and that it is HIS battle, not mine. So the choices are:
2 Chronicles 20:15b: This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s." (Read the whole chapter- amazing reminder that we are God's and he is battle ready for his children)
James 1:2-5- Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Phil 4:4-6-Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Ezekiel 11:19-21: I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20 Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
If you like one but it's too long, just pick part of it. Context of the verse is key so sometimes I don't like to separate them. I don't know about you, but I need peace, perseverance, an undivided heart, and wisdom!! I'm picking James. I love that God wants me to ask him for wisdom and especially that He loves to give it to me! Have a blessed couple of weeks and let me know how it's going. Praying for you all.
