I am so glad the election is over! I thought I would be so down yesterday because I believe our country has opened a HUGE Pandora's box electing a man we know nothing about except that he is for "change". However, what I found instead was an incredible peace in the knowledge that it was all sifted through the hands of a sovereign God and he will use it for good for those who love Him. (Romans 8:28) The sun came up, the birds were singing and my God is still in control!
I want to use this blog for God's glory. To help those wavering in their faith because of overwhelming circumstances of their lives. To let all people, believers and unbelievers, know that God can be trusted and is real and palpable. Because of what I believe God has called me to do, I've tried to hide that I am a politically very conservative. I tried not to "go there" because I know how vulnerable I am to give in to my flesh and argue. Honestly, I so want to be excited about the first black president and will take a "wait and see" attitude. If he completely tears down the democracy making us just like Europe, Americans will get a chance to voice their opinions with the power of their vote. We live in such a great country!
So, I have decided to look at it as an opportunity to get involved, not as a defeat. I mean McCain did not represent me well at all and Sarah Palin needs to be at least close to all those kids. As a christian woman, I believe that is her first priority! Call me crazy! Is being a mom less important than being vice-president? Not in God's eyes! Who had the greatest impact on your life- the VP or your mom? okay, now I'm emotional. I miss you, mom!!
I would be remiss not to mention how this has been positive for race relations. Getting our "stuff" out in the open and talking about how racism has been tolerated on both black and white communities and in churches. Ultimately, no matter our race, we are first members of the eternal kingdom. I pray there will be a healing there and that more churches show and seek diversity on both sides of the aisle. Can I get an amen on that?!?
I will be in prayer for Barack Obama and for our country. I hope you will be also! Congratulations!
Isaiah 2:22: Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils.
Of what account is he?
