Dogs and Discipline....

I don't know how I did it, but I did. I've ruined my dog! Kate was perfect once but then she began spending every moment with me. Now, what was once an obedient little pup has turned into a demanding barking monster who constantly wants my attention. She follows me from room to room, vying for my attention, wondering what our next activity might be. "Could it involve a ball of some kind?"(Yes, I read her mind )

Of course, to me she is still adorable... but to others, maybe an adorable spoiled brat. As I type, she is at the back door barking and she just hit the lever with her paws as if attempting to open the door herself! That was cute... at first. You see, she wants to go swimming. In her pool. How do I know this? Because I've been swimming almost every morning about this time so she now has a routine.

For about a whole, let's say, ten days, I've been trying to do my part to maintain my health. I really don't like to exercise but, after being inspired my my friend Megan, I realized that if I'm going to make any progress physically that I should be doing my part. She is just so motivated. So, I'm trying to be disciplined. It also dawned on me that I was asking God to keep this healing process going as he has so graciously healed me past ALL predictions, but yet I was not doing my part. I was being LAZY. Now you guys can keep me accountable!

So, Kate starts barking the minute she sees me pick up my swim suit and stops when I get the tennis ball on the porch. YIKES! I seem to indulge even the dog too much!! I need help!

I gotta go.. I can't take the barking anymore and I don't know how to stop his behavior. Story of my life.........first the kids and now the dog.

Where's is the Dog Whisperer when you need him? Hey, wouldn't it be cool if there was a "Kid Whisperer"?
